KATARMA KIDNAP VICTIM SHOT IN FOOT AFTER RANSOM PAID WHILE ILLEGAL MINERS HAVE A FILLED DAY

VIEWER DISCRETION  IS ADVISED

On Monday the 5th  of February 2024, armed bandits lunched a deadly attack on the Katarma Community of Munya LGA in Niger state where lots of properties were damaged, two people shot dead and ten  persons were kidnapped.

Crusaders Radio gathered that the kidnappers contacted the families of the kidnapped victims demanding huge ransoms to secure the release of those held in captivity.

The families who rallied together and sold personal effects and properties were barely able to raise the ransom which was a moment too late as one of the hostages had been shot dead by the bandits and the ransom loot was still collected from the families

The Bandits therefore made a fresh request for more monies or their loved ones would suffer the same fate and threatening to throw the remains of the deceased into the river

The families of the abducted, with very little options at their disposal were constrained to raise a ransom fee of Twenty Million Naira in cash and 10 brand new motorcycles to secure the release of their loved ones.

The captives were subsequently released to reunite with their loved ones but not without leaving one of the victims with a gunshot to the leg. A scar that would be remembered for a lifetime.

The Victim of the bandit gunshot wound is currently recuperating at the IDP Camp in the Central Primary School, Sarkin Pawa, Munya LGA, Niger State.

Also within these communities, Crusaders Radio gathered reliably that there are activities of illegal miners going on unabated and local vigilantes who attempt to intervene are either maimed or left dead in the pool of their own blood.
